In a time where having a stable school home is not the norm, KIPP Central City Academy is a school that was founded and has remained a Central City school that actively focuses on our community and agency for kids. We pride ourselves as a viable pillar in the Central City community, not because we say so, but because parents and community members alike do.

 

We believe in setting up students for high school and college in middle school by providing programming with rigorous academics, while not forgetting to focus on what is happening with our students outside the building. As a culturally responsive institution, our students’ real lives always influence the intentions within our walls. Our job as a staff is to teach students how to navigate the world with complete cultural competence. Our school family consistently fights complacency; as a B school with a less than 10 percent attrition rate, we all agree it’s not enough to be better than it was; we seek to be the best adults for our scholars, period.

 

KIPP Central City Academy will empower each student with the character traits, academic abilities, and self-confidence needed to excel in competitive high schools, colleges, and beyond. Our students will become leaders who positively navigate life’s challenges and who work every day to make New Orleans and the world beyond a better place.
